Photo Privacy

1. What we collect

When you use Snapajoy via WhatsApp, we collect the following information to process your order:

• Your WhatsApp phone number (used for order communication and OTP verification)
• Photos you send for your album (used solely for printing your photobook)
• Album preferences such as size, finish, theme, and layout choices
• Delivery address provided during the order process
• Payment confirmation details from Razorpay

2. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to fulfill your photobook order. Specifically:

• Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage (AWS S3) to generate your album layout and enable web-based editing
• Your phone number is used to send OTP codes for secure album access on the web editor
• Album layout data is stored in our database to allow you to preview, edit, and approve your photobook before printing
• Delivery details are shared only with our printing and courier partners to ship your order

3. Who can see your photos

Your photos are private. Access is restricted to:

• You, via the OTP-protected web editor link sent to your WhatsApp
• Our printing partner, solely for the purpose of producing your photobook
• Snapajoy support staff, only if you request help with your order

We do not sell, share, or use your photos for marketing, training, or any purpose other than fulfilling your order.

4. Photo storage and security

Your photos are stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure:

• Photos are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with server-side encryption
• Photos are delivered to the web editor via CloudFront CDN with signed URLs
• Access to stored photos requires authentication (OTP + JWT token)
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

5. Data sharing with third parties

We share limited data with trusted third-party services only as needed to fulfill your order:

• AWS (Amazon Web Services) — cloud storage and CDN for your photos
• Razorpay — payment processing (we do not store your card details)
• AWS SNS — OTP delivery via SMS
• Gupshup — WhatsApp Business API for chat communication
• Printing & courier partners — to produce and deliver your photobook

No third party receives your photos for any purpose other than printing your order.

6. Cookies and tracking

The Snapajoy web editor uses minimal cookies:

• An HTTP-only authentication cookie (JWT) to keep you logged in during your editing session
• No advertising cookies or third-party trackers are used
• No analytics cookies that identify you personally

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your photos and personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

8. Children's privacy

Snapajoy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Data retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

• Photos and album data are retained for up to 90 days after order fulfillment to allow for reprints or support requests
• After 90 days, photos are permanently deleted from our servers
• Order records (without photos) may be retained for up to 12 months for accounting and legal compliance
• You can request early deletion at any time by contacting support

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Snapajoy after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Photo Storage & Deletion

Snapajoy stores your photos temporarily on secure cloud servers for the sole purpose of producing your photobook. Here is how the lifecycle works:

• Photos are uploaded to AWS S3 when you send them via WhatsApp
• They are made available on the web editor via secure CDN links for preview and editing
• Once your order is printed and delivered, photos remain available for up to 90 days in case you need a reprint or support
• After 90 days, all photos associated with your order are permanently deleted
• Deletion is irreversible — we cannot recover photos once they are removed

If you want your photos deleted sooner, contact us at hello@snapajoy.in and we will process your request within 48 hours.

Can I delete my photos early?

Yes. You can request early deletion of your photos at any time by contacting Snapajoy support via WhatsApp or email. Please note:

• Once deleted, photos cannot be recovered
• If your order has not yet been printed, early deletion will cancel any pending print jobs
• We will confirm deletion within 48 hours of your request
